About

BK Willy, aka Baker Wiles, was born in the small town of Alexandria, MN.
His passion for music was formed early in life by his parents' tastes. His father listened to Frank Sinatra, Tony Bennet, and Glen Miller almost religiously. His mother was a Moldy Oldie fan, listening often to such artists as the Beach Boys, The Mamas and the Papas, and the Spencer Davis Group.
Growing up in such a small town didn't lend itself to a very cultural or musical scene. The local radio played Top 40, Classic Rock, or talk news, the end. In 1996, Baker received a compilation CD of dance music. Artists like N-Trance, La Bouche, and No Mercy were on the album. Around the same time, Baker also got his hands on a full length album by a somewhat unknown French DJ duo known as Daft Punk. BK Willy's love for dance music was born.
BK spent the next 9 years in Alex listening to basically whatever the radio would give him, as well as the hip hop albums that his older brother would introduce him to (B.I.G., Tupac, Dr. Dre, etc.).
In 2005, Baker left for college. This is where he gained exposure to independent bands and hip hop artists, as well as the underground electronic music scene that would soon become his home.
For the next four years, Baker soaked up music in any form he could. Concerts, festivals, raves...anything he could get his hands on. He made friends with a dj, Inande, who exposed him to large scale parties in Minneapolis where he was able to see such artists as Oliver Lieb, Dieselboy, Dara, Evol Intent, and DJ Rap, to name a few.
In 2009, BK Willy moved to Los Angeles. His exposure to the underground music scene continued to grow deeper when he formed connections with The Do Lab and began working for them as a volunteer for "Lightning in a Bottle," an electronic music festival held annually. He also began promoting with the Do Lab for such artists as: The Glitch Mob, RJD2, Love & Light, Paper Diamond, Russ Liquid, Vibesquad, and more.

BK Willy was recently given the wonderful opportunity to open for Tek Freaks, Eva, Plaza de Funk, and the Black 22's during the one year anniversary of the Big Bass Allstar Variety Show, hosted by Goodvibe LA. EVeryMan, Nico Luminous, and the Wandering Marionettes had special performances as well. This all took place at the King King in Los Angeles on Oct. 14, 2011 and was BK Willy's professional debut. He would like to thank Lou E. Bagels and J*Labs for bringing him on board for their show.

BK Willy is the founder and owner of Take Back the Night Productions
based in Los Angeles, CA.
TBTN has held events showcasing such artists as: Russ Liquid, Dakini Star, Oscure, Patricio, J*Labs, Lou E. Bagels, Chad Rock, Annunakii, and more!

BK Willy has performed at the Lucidity Festival (Renegade Outpost Stage, Boogaloo Art Car Stage), Boogaloo 2 (a fundraiser for the Dirty Beetle's art car), Lightning in a Bottle (Leafy Green's renegade stage), and has recently been invited to play at several other events all up and down the West Coast (from Seattle to San Francisco) and across the country (Boston?).
