Don't ask. just don't ask. No ABBA was harmed in the making of this. Something else might have been though. The central sample of this went out as the BBC's news theme for a good couple of years in the early 80s, until they realised they had asked the great Jeff 'War of the Worlds' Wayne to do an orchestral theme for a programme, the highlight of which was a bit of snow on the M4 and someone getting entangled in their washing line in Norwich. Secretly, I quite like this, not because it's good or anything, but that i really want to squawk "you took my heart and then you took my money, and then you left me without a home" really loudly, er, into a hairbrush.

Which one's your favourite? Bet you can't spot mine.

@`TW0B0B`: yes, and scanning back through sites like tvcream etc only serve to underline how much local tv has been sidelined since - i expect itv1 will have purged itself entirely soon, save for insertion of local ads... no money in it i guess :|

@`TW0B0B`: well at least i can chuckle at that stuff; whoever had a crack at the current news at ten theme on itv1... um... *rolls eyes*

@bitsandoffcuts: It is. I can confirm that first hand. I was at YTV filming a video for one of the tunes, I was ligging in the Green room and saw um... Cristin? and Harry Gratian from the Calender team in there. (before YTV got axed).
Then that were prattling on about Arthur Bloggs hitting his thumb with a hammer in the Calender studio. When they were finished we all piled in the studio and oddly the opposite side of that studio was a mini stage and band rig.I never imagined when watching local news they might be staring at a band stage... TV studios, what a wonderful placeful of visual bullshit and dreams. Ah happy days. - `TW0B0B`

@`TW0B0B`: hahahaha. you make this news prog sound v smooth. the usual run of it was this very "drahma" music then cut to confused presenter fluffing autocue and delivering the novelty hamster story... what IS it about news programmes and overpompous music!
