Kaffiberlin is the first EP of Smith & Birgiss, a collaboration of Berlin's resident Hannes Smith and Reykjavik's DJ and producer Viktor Birgiss. Both got to know each other in the early 2010 and started to share their common passion in electronic music.
It didn't take long that they hooked up together in Hannes' studio and started producing their first ideas. On weekends they got inspired for writing on new stuff by Reykjavik's intimate and crazy nightlife.
Viktor's imagination of deep grooving House sounds and Hannes' production skills and Vocals makes this EP to a smooth tuned and timeless Deep House release influenced by passion, love and the cozy icelandic music scene.
Their common interest making music together started with a sketch of "DRLN". It took them nearly another year and thousand sketches later to finish it by finally getting back to current version.
"All the things" consists of a minimal housy groove which is deep kicking in your stomach while getting your face stroked by mellow vocals by Hannes Smith.
Furthermore Etoka:Shapes is proud to announce that Berlin residents Leopold Kristjansson and Steinunn Arnardottir, a producer and DJ couple from Reykjavik formed to "Prost Mallorca" and delivered another funky remix of "All The Things" for this EP.
Sometimes it takes long distances to reach the final destination but this connection shall be a proove that bridges musically and manlike are sometimes seem to be unseen.
