About
I use a ZoomH2 portable recorder and a pair of Sound Professionals SP-TFB-2 binaural microphones to make field recordings. I then post the results to my blog : http://www.binauraldiaries.co.uk
I hope you'll enjoy them!

@TJ Ries: Thanks!
Wasn't Alien Resurrection the fourth movie?
Wow! How did you do those squelchy acid lines live?
Fantastic!
Love it.
Hmmm. Any way of getting hold of a D/L this track?
@Deadbelly: Thanks!
Neat.
@Maxxwell: It was pretty intense sitting in the temple and experiencing it in person. Hopefully this recording is the next best thing!
@piyojo: Thanks!
@Tarvaa: Yeah - they it was very atmospheric.
@Tarvaa: That's what I had hoped!
@Frequentia: Thanks! Wasn't Alien Resurrection the 4th Alien film?
@Robert Roos: Thanks.
@TheOxfordAmbientCollectiv: Thanks!
Powerful!
@Tribient: Thanks very much!
@Scope8 MacZilchoid: Thanks, yeah.. going for something on the more abrasive side here.
@Black Napkin: Thanks man. I felt a little unsure about the bass capture on these.. Possibly as I was using the Roland mics for a change. But it's nice to have some feedback :-)
@a minimal virus: Thanks for the feedback, it's a great pleasure to hear that you enjoy my recordings!
@Black Napkin: Thanks :-)
A bit Lynchian? The character in Scanners is a good guy, but then you find that he has a dark past!
@BinauralDiaries: I've uploaded the recording again, which seems to have eradicated the issue.
@Black Napkin: Thanks!
@Zbigniew Wolny: Thanks :-)
@Black Napkin: Thanks very much it's certainly one of my favourite recordings.
@juniorbonner: Yes - I need to revisit this. I registered it with Soundcloud support some time ago because the source files were fine prior to upload. Thanks for mentioning it.
@daigoro: I'm pleased you enjoy it! It takes me right back as well. What a fantastic city.
I'm trying to remember... It was perhaps 4pm-ish.. :-)
We had been cycling and the skies just opened up! Cycling with an umbrella is difficult.
Not sure what the source of the bells was though, we were situated on a little side-street north west of the city centre.
@Finger Fangs: Thanks. I've been playing with some of these samples for a while but hadn't really laid anything down until now.
Nice to see some stats on this. Very good indeed.
@Einzelganger: I know what you mean. i was trying to go for this kind of sound http://soundcloud.com/speaker_snacks/white-ring-ixc999
You should be able to download it from the player - alternatively it is also hosted here:

@All The Way Alive: Hey, thanks for the comments... it should all be downloadable man... the download link is built into the player...
Outstanding stuff ED!
It's almost like the duck is laughing :-)
Very interesting. I would love to try out the Soundman mics. I think they are more expensive than the SP's. Although getting the SP's shipped from the USA did make them quite expensive. They have a fantastic reputation.
Have you ever used hydrophones or contact mics? The latter are really rather easy to make. I have one, but haven't really used it much. Hydrophones are very much unknown territory for me.
Can't wait to haven a proper listen to your recordings - I've had a quick listen, but need more time to really concentrate :-)
That doesn't surprise me actually. And in the above situation I was in a very blowy environment.
Thank you for the links. 95 € does indeed sound dear for wind shields alone.
I must give your recordings a listen - how do you get on with your Soundman mics? I assume it's the OKM or OKM II?
Thanks. Yes - even with the wind shields the SP-TFB-2's can't fully escape from the wind noise :-(
Bleep - bloop... lovely :-D
This is awesome!!!
