About

Billy Winn is a multitalented singer, songwriter, artist, and full-on entertainer, taking his first steps onto the international music scene. Growing up as a singer, dancer, actor, and writer in Pittsburgh Pennsylvania, Billy made the decision to become a recording artist at the age of twelve—influenced by music videos, and the work of artists like Aaliyah, and Prince. He initiated his pursuit by attending the performing arts schools in his hometown, writing songs, and performing in talent competitions and professional theatre. After high school he moved to Washington DC, where he began working as a backup singer, before becoming a member of an Indie-Soul ensemble named Auteur. Once Auteur disbanded in 2010, Billy teamed up with former Making His Band contestant—producer Raynier “L Blayze” Hodnett—and recorded the single, “Ferocious,” earning an incredible response at internet radio. Billy describes his musical sound as, “Dirty/Trashy/Sexy Pop,” combining Electronic, Dance, Urban Pop, Acoustic, Rock, and New Wave. He notes some of his influences as Prince, Aaliyah, Kanye West, George Michael, Freddie Mercury, Grace Jones, and Michael Jackson.
