The "alap" (rhymes with dollop,) is the slow, suspended time introduction in classical Indian music.

Sympatico is Kevin johnson, Bill Ross, Peter Blum, David Budd and Nathan Brenowitz; based in Woodstock, NY. Some tracks with our bro's Dave Ghent, Eliezer Parrilla and Russ Reilly, and Wm. Cochran on French horn & effects.

Mostly drums, percussion, bells & gongs with a musical attitude, with a bit of toning and guests on French horn, didgeridoo, frets, flute, vibraphone, and the appreciation for life in mind.

(We're always interested to hear from more players of melodic instruments who'd be interested in laying some tunefulness over our rhythms; either by remote control, or here in the Hudson Valley, two hours north of NYC.)
