About
Composer, singer and producer BIBI Provence was born on the 24th of February 1963 on the island of Curacao.
She started singing at the early age of 4 in her dad’s choir Etzel Provence (well known musician, and music pedagogue on the island of Curacao), singing in musicals, like "Bah September"and De professor heeft een tijdmachine".
Age 7 taking music classes (orf and amv)
And at age 11 taking piano lessons. at the local music school C.C.C. Curacao.
Age 17 she took opera lessons in Belgium during one year with Belgium's finest opera teacher Bea van Acker.
Studied Professional music for 3 years at Berklee College of Music in Boston Massachussetts U.S.A.
BIBI Provence, was featured on one of the songs "El Calle" in the movie picture titled "The Brother from another planet"arrangement by Frank London. ( Sadly her name was mispronounced as Birbetta Provence)
Performed with one of world's famous harpist Phia Berhout. Phia Berghout Performing and singing the a danza from Curacao "Un Mariposa" at the Zohandy's show at Radio Korsou fm, curacao.
Returning back to her island Curacao, she recorded her first album titled "This Time", of which mainly all were her original compositions. Only one titled "I found me an angel" was written by David "Ronchie" Matthew.

She performed in mostly all major concerts and events on the island, and during three occasions won the
Gallardon Vitrola (Grammy award of Curacao) for the best female vocalist.
She won the prize of Best Arrangement with her song Smile. at the Curinfest (Curacao international song festival) in 1987
And again 1988 she won the prize of second finalist in that same event Curinfest, with the song Free Again.
Performing at the First Aruba Jazz and Latin festival,Curacao Klm Jazz festival. and the First Curacao Jazz festival.
For three years she sang aboard on the Majestic Cruise line “Freewinds” and performed with artists such as: Gold-platinum recording artist Maxine Nightingale, David Pomeranz, Gayle Moran, and Grammy award winner Jazz pianist Chick Corea, together with his two kids Thaddeus and Liana Corea. Also performing with: Billy Jones, Sonny Khoeblal, DannyKeough (Lisa Marie Presley's ex husband) guitarist and composer Steven Gary and well known jazz-pianist John Novello
BIBI Provence featured on three tracks: 1.Feel the melody (backingvocals) 2.Tell me please (duet with Yoadd), and 3.Glow (solo artist) Produced by singer Daisy Dee and Boju Records "The daisy project".
BIBI Provence wrote and produced the song Without You (a duet sung with antillean singer, Nico Huyskens) that was featured on a collection c.d. titled "Music from Curacao"
BIBI Provence performing for a couple of years in the tumba festival curacao, singing backvocals with local bands such as Doble R. Spicy Peanuts, Clark & surprise, Era, Muziekschool Cornelia, Ufa ku Fa, Aldrico Felida.
BIBI Provence wrote and arranged the song "Nada" for Curacao's local accapella group Serenada, which is featured on both albums: Laman and Flor di amor
The song "Nada" made such an impact, on the island, that the group ZAMANAKITOKI under direction of Eric Calmes, featured singer, songwriter Izaline Calister to feature the song "Nada"on their album Wise guy
BIBI Provence was featured on two tracks Ecstasy, and World confusion from the album "JUMP JUMP" Produced by the Production Masters. They gave her the artist name BB Smooth.
BIBI Provence was featured on the movie track titled "Papa’s Song". Music by Roy Louis

Her second album working with James "Jim" Kastner on the c.d. Watersense, produced by Jeffrey Wood, published by dutch record company Red Bullet Holland, where she cowrote two songs: Joy and Blue room
Competed in the Caribbean Union Broadcasting Songfestival 1993 at Barbados with the song CURACAO, which she wrote and arranged herself, she won second price.
Her third album "Make up your mind" she produced herself. Where she had the honor to work with great musicians such as : Michael Simon, Roy Louis , Gili Braaf, Walter Wout, Clark Elisabeth, Arnel Salsbach, Oz "Michael"Eleonora, Raymond Meit, Sonny Khoeblal and Jesus Martinez.
Working with Gino Coelho, from Curacao, together producing the track SUPERHERO! read the story behind this remarkable song.
Year 2009, she had the honor to work with an exeptionally wonderful and talented musician Mr. Randy Winterdal from my home town Curacao, where she had the honor to sing on his composition "Muziek di kokolishi solo i laman" from the c.d. BIBI Provence was part of the band Yessireebop (Joep van der Velden on guitar, Kees Poulus on electric guitar, André Vogel on bass, and Paul Schothorst on drums) . for almost a year, due to personal circumstances she had left the group. But had the honor to perform in Beachpop that year 2009 in Aalsmeer in a special benefit concert. With the group Yessireebop!
The release of the track Violence by Housepital records, produced by Algerian DJ Al Jerry where BIBI Provence is featured on vocals!
BIBI Provence is now part of the reaggea band “Dreadless” Dreadless (Winner of the Dutch ReggaeTop 10 Award 2006, Category Bands)
