salaam aleikum
tonight's broadcast is dedicated to the music from the orient - a musical journey from morocco to afghanistan...
in media and press we are confronted everyday with a lot of negative news about the muslim culture: bombs, burkas, minarets are some words of irritation and provocation which divide the western society... why? bombs have nothing to do with real islam culture, only unbelieving criminals use them, a minaret is just the same as a churchtower...
so let us take a closer look to the rich and beautiful middle eastern music scene, there's much more then just rai and bellydance...
as a red line leading through this night, and as examples of the polarisation between politics and culture, i will present some podcasts (in german language...) about the 'other' oriental music scene by thomas burkhalter and simon grab for norient (infos about see below...)
special thanks to thomas burkhalter for his agreement to use this podcasts here!
