About
Born in the 80's, Funkloft (aka Keisrant, Cheezy K, ...) developed an early appetite for music in general. While studying the classical guitar since his 6th birthday, he was heavily influenced by bands & artists like Dire Straits, Michael Jackson & Nirvana. Then, suddenly, while accidently grabbing a CD called Leftism (by Leftfield) a taste for electronic music was born & kept evolving. Then, while studying in the party-city of Antwerp, Funkloft met a friend whose biggest passion was DJing & the disease was spread.
At that time, Funk started playing at local venues & gigs, creating a specific atmosphere, based on the impressions of the crowd & crafted into a musical landscape. After a couple of months of learning the profession, Funkloft started hitting the decks at the notorious club 'Cinécafé", where he quickly became a resident DJ, suitable for every kind of party, ranging from 80's-90's nights to metal-evenings. During that period, many decks were shared with fellow DJ's as Narco, Hank The DJ, Jackuzzi, Dave Pitch, Veris, Pilisan, Lammy, Free, Aldo, & many more.
In 2004, Funkloft was heavily influenced by a mixtape by french DJ & producer Ivan Smagghe & the passion for elektro & minimal techno (Death Disco) was born. Collecting records became a huge passion & an enormous, varied collection of vinyl, CD & MP3 was created. Nowadays, Funkloft is a well known figure in the local nightlife, whokeeps on rocking every kinda party.
More specific, his specialty is a mix of obscure dark 80's combined with deep-techy drives & electronic grooves, but the best thing u can do is just listen for yourself.
