It’s a slightly different approach for Lost My Dog on this release as they serve up a poppy vocal track, courtesy of St Louis based producer Bernard Jones and vocalist Aren B. The track comes as original vocal, instrumental and radio edits, while the ever reliable Harold Heath is on hand for two driving deep/tech house re-rubs.
This is the second project for Lost My Dog that Bernard Jones is involved with; he is also one half of the East St Louis Players alongside Don Tinsley, who will release their debut EP through the label on 29th September.
Bernard Jones’ musical journey started at the age of five, when his grandmother insisted on his classical training in piano. He learned of the art of DJing through local DJs and first started experimenting in producing house in 2000. With a few releases under his belt for labels including Kolour and Funkfield in the US, Bernard’s reputation is starting to grow.
Recently he has paired up with childhood friend and vocalist Brendan Woodard aka Aren B, who has found fame in the United States after being in the final 30 contestants of the TV series ‘American Idol’ in 2006. Aren is a quickly developing vocalist and songwriter, having performed all over America opening for artists including Tyrese, H-Town and Silk. Working with Bernard the pair have created some vocal house gems which instantly caught the attention of Lost My Dog.
Brighton based Harold Heath provides the two remixes on this release in his own instantly recognisable style. With a discography including labels such as Detour, Plastic City, Stickman and Urbantorque, for whom he also recorded the critically acclaimed album ‘Hole Funk’, Harold is regarded as one of the most consistent, and also unsung heroes, in UK house music. A long time friend of Lost My Dog, Harold has so far released one EP, ‘Street’s Keep Rocking’ and remixed ‘Smoketoke’ for the label, with more projects lined up for the future.
Part Two of ‘Don’t You Wish’ will follow shortly with new remixes from Paul Hardy of Baker Street Records and Nick Dare.
