    WHO WE ARE: Bombay Elektrik Project was set up in May 2008 by three young music entrepreneurs who were tired of only mouthing obscenities at the ordinariness of the arts and culture scene in Mumbai.

    BEP
    Kenneth Lobo, a journalist who has written extensively for Mumbai Mirror, Indian Express and Time Out Mumbai about events and personalities behind the scene;

    Sudeip Nair, an IHM Aurangabad graduate who set up concept-based restaurants and pubs across the country and

    Pramod Sippy, a cutting-edge house music DJ who has gigged across the country for 12 years form the core of the initiative.

    Bombay Elektrik Project looks at itself as a collective of artists – DJs, bands, musicians, percussionists, visual jockeys, visual artists, short film makers and poets – performing across platforms, united in their desire to give audiences fresh experiences. We reach out to venue owners / promoters looking for fresh, cutting-edge experiences. Our focus is equally aimed at audiences: to find middle ground between giving them what they want and what they need to experience.
    Interests

    Artist Management
    Bombay Elektrik Project represents the unique artistic force of several of the country’s most talented DJs, bands, percussionists and visual jockeys.

    We firmly value the aesthetic experience provided by these musicians to audiences and their contribution to the cultural vitality of the music industry today.

    The talents on our impressive roster of award-winning, cutting-edge musical artists have thrilled listeners in several of the country’s most prestigious venues, all facilitated with utmost professionalism and integrity by the Bombay Elektrik Project. Our experience in the music business also gives us specific insights to sourcing out the right kind of artist for a specific cultural experience: for instance, you’ll never find a house music artist comfortable at a retro night.

    Club Residencies

    Like human beings, every club is a unique entity that requires attention to detail, to function smoothly. In India’s emerging nightlife scene, a great looking in a good location is no longer enough to ensure a lengthier shelf life for a club.

    Bombay Elektrik Project urges club owners and promoters to consider the importance of unique concepts and DJs with refined musical taste. In our opinion, these are the biggest differentiators in the music business. Our company tailor-makes concepts for each club keeping in mind the city and the neighbourhood it is based in.

    All our concepts are footfall and revenue-driven, and when budgets can accommodate it, Bombay Elektrik Project also encourage unique poster-driven art or flyers that go with the concepts. Our experience in the music business also gives us Currently, Bombay Elektrik Project undertakes music management for the Wink at the Taj President in Mumbai as well as Bonobo, one of the newest, cutting-edge lounge bars in Bandra.

    Art and Culture

    Bombay Elektrik Project actively conceptualises one-off as well as regular events across the of music, arts and culture scene.

    Monday Shorts: Every fortnight, short filmmakers from across Mumbai gather at the Mumbai Times Café to screen their work and receive feedback from a riveted and educated audience. The aim of Monday Shorts is to create a networking hub for creative minds where writers, directors, cinematographers as well as financiers meet to discuss ideas and business. And create an alternative experience of a night out for audiences.

    Slam Poets: An opportunity to watch the most controversial local poets as they go nose-to-nose while a live, whooping and cheering audience gets rolling with them. A noisy, heartfelt, rowdy, and sometimes, political session of poetry that always gets the crowd going. Every fortnight at the Mumbai Times Café in Bandra.
