Decided enough was enough and bit the bullet the other day. Now I've got iZotope's Ozone 5 Advanced. And boy, was it worth the bite.

In this mix I've got Oz5 on vocals, drums, and master. Most of the drum processing is all SD2.0, but on the busses for kick/close and snare/overheads/far, there's compression and a hint of tube color. Then on the main drums buss, I've got a four-band dynamics setup to give the drums some punch and flavor.

On the vocals it's three-band compression and EQ, as well as a small boost in the mids through triode excitation. Then there's a brickwall limiter to even things out a bit. This is for all three vocal tracks, including the choir.

The master gets a four-band dynamics process in mid-side configuration, to give the side image a different character and more presence. The mid image is compressed so that the tone is even and the transients come through. Then it's off to a one-band triode unit set at 3 and the master limiter. I'm proudly showing off the Intelligent III algorithm now, and its Crisp character. Speed is at 1.1, the most aggressive it can be without moving into the Clipping category. Transient Recovery is set at 50 to make sure the kick and snare anen't getting killed in limiting. No gain is added, and the ceiling is set to -0.2 dB for standard purposes.

All areas besides the four-band dynamics on the drums buss and master buss were previously occupied by Ozone 4. Most settings haven't even changed. Go listen to the other Constellation recording and see for yourself what a difference there is.
