Stats for this track
I recently tore down my old studio space and rebuilt it from the ground up to include some new gear. I call it the new analog heart of my studio. Namely, a Mackie 1640i mixer and a TLAudio Ebony A4 summer. In an effort to really test out my new "out of the box" mixing approach I took some old track stems of mine and did a little remix.
I realize it's very naive to say, but it was really great being able to approach the mix by hand - turning actual EQ knobs instead of virtual ones on a screen. It was also quite enjoyable placing the various stems within the stereo field not only via the mixer, but also the summer. I really wanted to give these old stems a bit of new life, so ater futzing awhile w/the mix and placement, I activated the tube stage of the Ebony and started to softly overdrive the final stereo mix.
It's by no means perfect (I'm only just getting my head around the new setup) but I think it came out pretty decent for a just a few hours. Hopefully some of you might enjoy the outcome.
