@mimienana: I'm still not sure what kind of attention to give it. You mean like extra hugs, right? :)
@thingstocome: It's running through an old half broken 6 channel JVC mixer from the 70s that a friend passed along to me. It's huge and a total piece of crap but I love the warble & splat sounds you get when you really pump stuff through it. And watching the needles on the VU meters having massive seizures is also very gratifying. I should use it more often.
fantastic. i'm going to really enjoy this one. cheers!
@rhythmsickness: Thanks Paul- I really appreciate the comments. Nice to see you uploading some good stuff too. Cheers!
hot.
@pheek: Thanks!
@Candle Nine: Thanks. I'm pretty pleased with this one. Startled, actually. It's sort of the process I described in my other comment. I was mixing various re-takes of Addl together to get a drone-saxophone sound, kept going and it came out this way. So it sounds a bit too intentional to me to be Cageian, but I love Cage. He has a fabulous sense of humor.
@Candle Nine: Uh. I kind of forget actually. :) I kind of get tunnel vision when I'm working on things. But I don't think there are any 'found' sounds. Mostly I process and layer and resample things. Then everything gets lost in little folders within folders in one big directory. I hate the way Live manages files- it's really only useful to Live. I need to start keeping a studio log so going back through things isn't such a chore.

This sounds -really- great while watching the bootleg trailer for Tron 2. Hot stuff!
That was awesome.
holy shit! the start sounds like cabaret voltaire played at 16 rpm... it actually startled me.
@Knowfoowl: I think I'd want to field test it a bit before doing something like that, but thank you!
@tce: the distorted guitar line almost sort of acts as a voice. love the early front 242 / devo vibe and the sort of floodlands era sisters of mercy organ in the back. good stuff.
This is great! Maybe I'm daft but somehow this reminds me of The Clash or The Ex with squiggly synths like Zapp. Love it.
I was just listening to the other version of this on your blog- what's the revision number of this one?
nice track- especially the synth line. and the vocal compliments everything else very nicely.
@compost: well, in music a sense of humor and a cock-ring go a long way.
@Forss: thanks! :) i'll try to find something more vaginal looking to upload next.
This section is pretty swell- it sits differently than the rest of it. Keep making stuff. Keep enjoying yourself.
Oops. Bumped the table.
reverb and eq = love.
yeah. it was a really rough pass. i couldn't quite get the sound to 'pop' the way i wanted it to. i think i will try mixing the two takes and see what happens.
Why doesn't my Poly 800 sound this good?
Tasty.
moar!
brilliant!
moar!
i love it because it's evil.
wicked. where is buckethead hiding? love the guitars.
it's like a jazz mutated horspeil. this is so great!
I love this buildup.
I love Mexican Techno!
It just stops at the end so I had to play it twice. lovely stuff.
haha. I wouldn't be so sure of that. :) great sound on this recording session. i especially like the jam.
oh no. this is going to be funky, isn't it?
Keep working on this- I like the feel of it.
agreed. understated short mixes are much better. thanks for sharing that. excellent stuff.
funky!
oh this is excellent.
