Truly a South African original, Ben Fonnix has been supporting the South African dance culture for as long as he can remember. He started Djin in Early 2003. Armed with a fierce determined attitude Ben worked hard to play at any event he could manage to secure a set at. His determination, drive and skill was soon noticed by industry clubs, promoters and djs and he was given the break he needed to cemente his profesional dj career. After a few high profile gigs shadowing S.A’s top dj names Ben started reeling in his own fan base due to his electrifying sets and vision behind the decks!

Ben cemented his professional status in late 2005 by headlining major events that year included The Matric Rage festival in Umhlanga and Ballito and The FTV new years eve Street party Cape Town. Ben Fonnix’s popularity continued to soar over the years as he DJ-ed to enthusiastic audiences across South Africa and targeting not just the clubbing community but people of all backrounds and ages. In addition to extensive touring, Ben Has owned Crowds of all Ages, Not Limiting Himself to Only Club Gigs, Ben Has played on radio and all types of Events and Functions.

His relentless passion for dance culture has led him to bookings for top notch events and festivals all through South Africa thereafter. Not wanting to limit his style to just Tech house Ben started dropping beats ranging from techno and minimal to the most up-front Progressive around. He's mastered all styles of house from the funky feel good to the progressive dark minimal, technical side of house. His ability to be both a crowd-pleaser and connect emotionally with his audience has seen him reach incredible heights in the dj world!

Ben has also actively been involved in the business side of the nightlife industry having run the logistics for well known event companies, clubs and festivals. Ben Has Played an Active Part in Making the Nightlife Industry in South Africa where it is today!
