Benoît De Greift is an artist from Namur, Belgium. He started music as a child and went to the music academy in Namur to learn the piano and solfege. But he had always felt attracted by the guitar and when a teenager, he quit the piano for the classical guitar, and finally the electric guitar, which has become not only his main instrument but also his best friend and companion.
With his long time friend Damien, he co-founded the alternative band Calista (now Lady Shot from a Tree), which made two records and toured Belgium. After a few years, Benoît quit the band to work on solo projects.
Since his very first notes, Benoît was especially interested in writing his own music. He has written hundreds of pieces of different styles over the last 20 years.
Among many others, Benoît enjoys the works of artists The Smashing Pumpkins, Sonic Youth, Thomas Newman, Frank Klepacki or Claude Debussy.
