About
"Creating rap music cause I never dug disco." — Kool Keith, Ultramagnetic MCs
Sean Glenn hails from the savagely rain-beaten streets of the Emerald City: Seattle, Washington. Brought up on comic books, Dungeons & Dragons, Wang Chung, Run DMC, Slick Rick, and the Beastie Boys, its no wonder he turned out this way.
In 1997 he bought his first Gemini turntable, then immediately upgraded to a pair of Technics 1200s, learned how to actually mix two records together, and was DJing professionally and making beats by 2005; after many long nights of making mixtapes for friends who didn't even like Jungle, Hip Hop, Drum n Bass, or any of the other music that carefully filled two sides of Maxell C-90 cassette tapes.
Sadly, Sean was forced to work in the advertising industry to support his DJing habit, often working 50 to 80 hours a week, just to spend his off hours tracking down obscure 12" releases of records no one wanted to hear when they were new. His obsession with learning everything he could about mixing, production, and of course, obsolete technology like analog signal chain gain staging has led him to a sad world where he lives now, surrounded by incredibly talented friends, creating music he calls "hip hop for people who like hip hop" and constantly telling people about his latest mixing or production trick, or something he read in a manual for a product that hasn't been manufactured since the 90s. He remains a staunch and loyal fan of golden age hip hop, but shows signs of forward progress with his interest in glitch hop, dubstep, and even splinter-genre breakouts like moombaton and symphonic punk country disco.
