Please follow me if you like my mixes, and you will get them ahead of everyone else.I really appreciate comments, especially timed comments if there's a particular mix or track that gets you.If you leave a timed comment, I will give the track id within a few days, usually faster but sometimes I am traveling or busy with an event. It's also great if you favorite my tracks as that helps make them more visible and serves as a recommendation to your friends and followers.Soundcloud is a great resource for all of us!
That said, I'd like to ask people to please follow me only if they are into my mixes and music. Please do not follow me, wait 24 hours for me to follow you back, and drop off when I don't.I am not here to trade favors but to get my music out there and to search for other music I like.
In 2012 I am working equally hard on making tracks and djing. I am selective about the gigs I take so I can put my full energy into them.I post most of my live sets here- if something you like disappears due to space limitations, check Tropical (http://tropical-house.com/audio/audio.htm) or Moontribe (http://moontribe.org/download.html) download pages. As for my productions, they're improving greatly and I will be posting some here summer 2012.
So back in the summer of 1996 I moved to Edinburgh, Scotland to try to make a living there.Totally loving the club/festival scene but finding my job prospects dim, I decided to move back to L.A. and learn how to dj.I bought my first records at 23rd Precinct in Edinburgh (http://www.dailyrecord.co.uk/showbiz/music-news/2009/12/31/iconic-record-store-23rd-precinct-closes-after-50-years-86908-21933477/), and flew home telling myself the next time I came to Europe it would be to dj.
In 1998 I became resident dj at Moontribe and started my own party, Tropical, both of which continue to this day.I started quickly to dj out-of-town and internationally, first in Canada and Mexico, then accomplished my goal of djing in Europe in 2001, stopping in Portugal, Spain, England, and Russia.Over the past 15 years I've had a really fun dj career with Wiggle at Fabric in London, Labyrinth in Japan, Festimad and Rave Goa Ano Nuevo in Madrid, Aca World Sound Fest in Acapulco, and 13 trips to Moscow's Propaganda club and gigs all over Russia and Siberia being the international highlights.I've played in most major US cities, particular favorites being Portland, OR and the Shasta Gathering in Northern California.
In 2012 I continue my residencies with Tropical and Moontribe while taking selective dj gigs elsewhere.
Tropical is a benefit party which has raised over $7000 for charity since 1998.There have been 53 Tropical parties to date, most in warehouses, some outdoors, on a boat, or at the beach. The next Tropical will be sometime this summer, when info is available it will be posted to http://tropical-house.com.
Moontribe is a quarterly full moon party which takes place in the Southern and Central California high and low desert, celebrating 19 years this June.More info at http://moontribe.org.
