We are continuing to provide reports from the 2012 Cattle Industry Convention and NCBA Trade Show held Feb. 1-4, 2012. This week, we bring you a few country music stars who performed in front of more than 4,000 cattlemen and women at the Grand Ole Opry in Nashville, Tenn. William Lee Golden of the Oak Ridge boys not only grew up on an Alabama farm but launched his career by singing in FFA. Golden says he loves the farm and ranch way of life.

“These are my kind of people,” says Golden.

Like many on Capitol Hill and throughout the country, Charley Pride gained an admiration for the American cowboy through old western movies. He has fond memories of legends like Roy Rogers and Tex Ritter.

South Carolina native and newer country music sensation Josh Turner says no matter if its tobacco farms or cattle ranches, the culture of rural America is always the same.

“Definitely hardworking blue collar American people,” say Turner of farmers and ranchers across the country.
