    Moon Palace
    (Bedrock Digital) Beddigi-11

Those of you with a good memory for a great tune will, no doubt, remember Alan Fitzpatrick’s Reflections (Bed82) from 2009 as an anthem of the highest order, and an ‘Essential New Tune’ for Pete Tong on BBC Radio 1. So, it’s an honour to have him back on Bedrock in 2011 with yet another monster single release - Moon Palace.

From the majestic drum-fuelled opening bars and the lush powerhouse hypnotic techno attitude as Moon Palace builds towards its first gorgeous crescendo, the sheer melodic beauty of Alan Fitzpatrick’s creativity sets this track head and shoulders above the rest. No remixes, no versions, just one stunning single track. Alan Fitzpatrick has created something very special indeed in Moon Palace.

The continued rise of Alan Fitzpatrick is the biggest story in UK techno right now. Having enjoyed a rapid ascent since his emergence as the new kid on the techno block in the latter half of 2009, Fitzpatrick now enjoys a status as a highly respected and in-demand producer. By releasing his debut album for Adam Beyer’s globally renowned Drumcode label, Alan became the first act to record an album on Drumcode since 2005.

The well-received ‘Shadows In The Dark’ long-player marked the culmination of a run of productions that have seen Fitzpatrick publicly name-checked as a one of the most exciting producers in techno by Adam Beyer, John Digweed, Dubfire, Carl Cox and Len Faki. Indeed, such has been Fitzpatrick’s dominance of the techno scene in the last eighteen months that his productions have regularly filled the top positions of Beatport’s techno Top 100 chart at the same time. Now, with his return to the Bedrock label, it’s time for Moon Palace to fly.
