At 6 years old Dean Mahoney, aka: Deanero, struck middle C for the first time in his life. After years of piano lessons, he would take up a passion for drums, co-writing songs for multiple bands throughout high school with his brother and friends. But seeing that his journey to college (which would eventually be UConn) would impede on his ability to remain with his band, Dean knew he had to figure a way to follow his passion for music.
At age 15, only a sophomore in high school, Dean decided to put together a rap / hip-hop album after being challenged by one of his high school friends. In suburban Southbury, CT the action would create a local stir that would birth Deanero as a relevant local musical figure. He would go on to developing a passion for creating “beats” (electronically composed instrumentals) after feeling that using prepackaged loops and samples for his album was “unoriginal.” For all future compositions Deanero would vow to create beats that housed a unique sound built purely from scratch.
Throughout college, Deanero would continue to pump out beat after beat. With some passion and a desire to be heard, he knew that he had to link up with some local talent. After meeting Chris “Abel,” affiliated with the Connecticut School of Broadcasting and Hartford’s Hot 93.7, he was introduced by him to George “Ace” Clomon, who represented one half of the duo now known as Northern League. He would work with George on many tracks including his first produced hit “Red Light,” which aired on Hot 93.7 from time to time. Through George, Deanero was introduced to legendary producer FS (formerly of Ming + FS). After years of sound and production development, FS started to license and distribute of behalf of Deanero, feeling that his beats were “ready” for the big time.
Deanero’s music has now been featured on 5 of the top, global television networks including MTV, MTV2, LOGO, VH1, and Discovery Channel. Some of the various shows you may have heard of that showcase hismusic include “Beavis and Butthead”, “I Used to Be Fat”, “True Life”, “Teen Mom”, “Love and Hip Hop” and many more. With some strong momentum on his side, Deanero figures to be the breakout electronic music artist in 2012. Be on the lookout for more of his tunes in the very near future, including his debut electronic album which should drop at some point this year.
