About
I first started getting into mixing after i bought myself a rubbish old pair of belt driven marantz tt's (minus pitch shift) I eventually progressed and bought a pair of Technics and learnt how to beat mix. In the early 90's I got my first gig at a small rave in Murray St Perth- from there i started playing at different club nights and raves around Perth. I came to the UK in 92 and was introduced to the sounds of Jungle and brought a bunch of Jungle tunes back to Perth. I had a fascination about how jungle and later DnB music was being made so decided to try making it myself. I went and studied Audio Engineering at the WA Academy of Performing arts - during this time discovered that rather than setting up rigs I much preferred being in the studio - recording instruments and vocals and creating sound designs, I then started to get serious about making music in the studio. Music has always played a massive part in my life - my earliest influences were producers such as Joey Beltram, Ratty and Tango, Bukem, Intalex, Goldie. I love all good quality music however my fav styles are DnB, downbeat and classical. Some of my fav artists are Cinematic Orchestra, Bonobo, Kruder and Dorfmeister, Nitin Sawhney, Cliff Martinez and Ludovico Einaudo. These days i am big fan of experimental- ambient DnB and i am looking forward to being able to contribute some quality music of my own to this genre in the near future.
