oh-wow-really-african
I've been in Los Angeles for the past ten days, where I've heard a number of entertaining - although often messed up - comments. One of the more benign but funny ones was this: I'm buying pants in a store, I tell the guy I live in a hot and humid climate, so I need light pants. He asks me where, I say Ghana - "where?! - Ghana - oh wow!"
We chat a bit more, he asks me what I do there, I tell him about the music, he - as usual - asks me if it's all drumming, I say no, offer to send him music, bust out my card, he reads the name, Akwaaba, and goes "oh wow, really African!"
Yep, really African.
