Bazil has been Dj and producer since 1989, founder of the notorious sound system and member of the Lazyhouse free party crew, whose legendary free parties were the best in the country in the early 90s.
DIY`s “Bounce” was his first residency, at the Lakota in Bristol, where he took to the club scene djing and promoting his love of house music, playing at various clubs inc. Club uk, Loco, Turnmills, Lakota, The Blue Mountain, Rocket, Crunch ,The Emporium, the amber rooms, the velvet lounge, & the phoenix. His first release was in 1992 as boomshak on mighty force records, where he was label mates with aphex twin and tom middleton,
In 1995 Bazil started the famous Bristol house night, “Fruity Antics”, which has received numerous best club awards from mixmag, muzik and ministry magazines. Fruity is still one of the best nights in the country showcasing the best house dj`s from all over the world, recent bookings include Joey Youngman, jimpster, dj deep,
fish go deep, kneeDeep, Ralph Lawson and many others.
Bazil`s remixes have appeared on an abundance of labels, compilations and mix cd`s. Remixing for artists like: Digs & Whoosh, The Black Beatniks, C-Mos & The Rurals. Latest work includes remixes of 6 million ways by C-Mos
Bazil`s style is deep & funky, with influences from jazz, funk, blues, disco, & techno, a good combination for some quality house music.
His best work to date being his dope production of the Rurals “Window Pain” on Peng , Bazil works with and produces for various artists at his Devon based studio and also runs his own label,
Bazil can be found djing in the UK at his favourite residency – Fruity Antics, on air at www.phonic.fm 106.8,
And at highest grade at the velvet lounge and amber rooms
But also plays internationally, and has recently returned from a successful tour of the USA & Canada, with regular visits to Philly, Los Angeles, Miami and Bulgaria
