To understand Bastard's artistic career we must consider the famous quotation by Jimi Hendrix, who said: "Music is my religion", for this belief perfectly reflects not only ba*ds music career but also his way of life. Jimi is also key to understanding the roots of Bastard's creativity which built the firm foundations necessary to stand the weight of incessant innovations. He surfaced in a time when legends still existed and claimed the venues staging rock, metal, punk and grundge music, in a time when concert goers took the performers' poetry as their own. This has all influenced the way in which Bastard communicates with his audience and expanded the depth with which he set sail into the very beginnings of electronic music. After the first party that he organized in primary school his childlike interest grew into a passion to create and constantly search for new ways of transferring his inner world of feelings and imagination to his audience. There were no boundaries. He went from cassette tapes to records, randomly chosen and ordered by mail, his first turntables and finally his own recording studio. And from progressive to trance techno and then to tech house, which is his current genre. He became a permanent and often leading member of a newly founded tribe of ravers in Slovenia. He took part in the organization of electronic music festivals (as a member of Metulji - a cultural assocation based in his home town Slovenj Gradec), he cooperated with numerous other DJsas well as other musicians, such as saxophonists, vocalists, etc. This was somewhere around the year 2004, when electronic music was coming to its peak. He also performed in the Balkans, spinning in Bosnia, Serbia and elsewhere. He has continuously perfected himself and sought new ways of expressing his own truth or, as he calls it, the "positive manipulation", in the realization of which he always derives from all genres of music that move him with the power of their message (ethnic, pop etc.). This healthy ambition was not limited to DJing, but also directed him into the audio field. He started to produce music and worked as a sound technician for various bands. We should realize that all this information provides an incomplete picture of DJ Bastard's creative sphere and might even cause us to underestimate his potential. The red thread of his creative work never deviated into an empty, economically motivated and superficial generation of music, which is so common nowadays. As a poet with an endless range of colours, deriving from his own emotional rebirths, that are inherent to every human being, he creates a rainbow of sensuality on the dancefloor. His music is not just alive, but is a testimony of what has survived, which is why the reaction of his audience is sometimes passionate, sometimes tranquil and other times indescribable. The foundation is always the same. The aim is to wake up the inner world through one's own experience. It is thus a battle of light with music, which the poet breathes each day and then conveys to us so as to help us awaken in this alienated, paralyzed and cold world and start feeling the fire within and the hope that electronic music can kindle the same kind of love we used to get from the electric guitar.
