Need a gift for a gifted musician?
Hi, my name is Barthold and I'm from the Netherlands.
My love for electronic music was born at an early age. I loved the disco radio shows and taped many of them on my radio cassette player that I got as a birthday present.
I loved the "The Soul Show" with Ferry Maat and "In the Mix" by Ben Liebrand.
In 1988 I went to the "The iT" club in Amsterdam with my brother, we were both surprised by the atmosphere.
We heard early Acid House and watched the scene, and it was all pretty amazing. In 1990 I went to go out in the "De Waakzaamheid" in Koog aan the Zaan, and from that moment on I was sold to house music. I've been to many parties in the De Waakzaamheid and have very good and warm memories of that time.
In that time I also started to try to make some house music myself. I bought an Atari 1040ST with Cubase and a Roland S760 sampler and a Roland D70 synth.
I created many tracks and was always looking for sounds and combinations. I remember that I found it difficult to finish a composition and often found myself stucked into loops, I enjoyed it too much I guess.
Now 20 years later I have the iPad, and now I think I have found the perfect sound production system with it.
In the recent years created an enormous love for minimal music, and listen to it every day, like Internet Radio "Deepmix Moscow Radio"
The tracks that I currently create are influenced by this genre.
I like to create spacy music, fly on a magic carpet, walk on the moon, that kind of feeling.
I'm here on SoundCloud to explore, create, and learn.
Music is the answer,
