    Interview

Q: Hi Samanta Fox! Could you please introduce yourself to the dutch folks?

A: Yo! Samanta Fox is production duo & DJ team hailing from Berlin, Germany. We are residents of the mysterious Salon - Zur wilden Renate where we host our monthly parties, Whiskey Tango Foxtrott & Radio Renate.

Q: How do you feel about the musical environment in Berlin at the moment and what do you know of the scene in the Netherlands?

A: Berlin is a great home-base for many types of artists, not only for electronic musicians. Cheap, centrally located, and full of things & people that spark the creative imagination. Working in a club like Renate allows us to meet and mix with people from all walks of life plus bring our own flavor of party music to the masses. We have only seen Amsterdam in person but from what we could tell during our visit, it seemed to be similar in some ways to our home. A very liberal city that offers a place for both the main stream artist and those who are working on the fringes alike. The music of crews from Den Haag, Rotterdam & Amsterdam have been such a huge influence on the sound of Samanta Fox from even before we started. Creme Organization, Bunker Records, Clone and Rush Hour all have permanent place in our record crate. Without their raw electro / house sound to counter the uplifting moods of the Chicago house tracks that are mainstays in our DJ sets, we surely would not be what we are today.

Q: To round things up, can you tell us something about the podcast?

We put together some tracks that we have been listening to lately when we are sitting in our studio relaxing. Not all of it is meant for the dance floor though a portion of it could be. This mix is more about the journey through the mind of Samanta Fox rather then a tour of the sound.
