Today I'm reviewing Kate Bush's debut album The Kick Inside released in 1978
Forget all you think you may know about Kate Bush from her hits and listen to this album as a complete body of work, considering she was still in her teens when she released this, makes it even more astonishing, the amount of raw talent she posses.

Very nice Dave mate and yes a very good album indeed of Kate's and very good for a debut album to. Not many artists back in them days made good debut albums when you think about it. Mind you when you got songs like Wuthering heights/The Man With The Child In His Eyes and Them Heavy People which were all singles charted in the UK charts it as to be good. Excellent review Dave and looking forward to the next one.

I agree with everything you say about this wondrous album and I really encourage everyone to listen to it. It taught me how to sing! Thanks again also for your kind words about my version of Man with child in his eyes. I appreciate it even more, knowing how your feel about the original.

by miles my favourite of the albums you've reviewed so far - very much a record of its time production-wise, but the raw, out-there talent in one so young was exciting and astonishing. yes, there were influences, but vocally she pretty much came from nowhere. she really was the year dot for dozens of female vocalists who followed.

Mate this is my favourite Kate Bush album. Massive respect to ya! James and the Cold Gun is my most loved track from this album. From all her fine albums you pick this one, I am very impressed :)

I'm happy you bring Kate to SC, she is regularly put aside from the more intellectualized areas of the modern urban music. But the 1985 album "Hounds of Love" (specially the LP side B) really illustrates what she could do in terms of a serious approach to popular music. Well done David, cheers
