One of the greatest albums of that era. Lovely textures you've said. I think this is precisely one of the most amazing features of VDGG work, where the sax plays a key role.

@WayB4: I knew of them, but never really listened before, they certainly took this genre seriously. Thanks for listening to my podcast.

@QUARTZ CLOCKS: There's a lot to this, more than first meets the ear, so to speak. Thanks for listening.

@Lee >>> Lucas: Cheers Lee, I had to listen quite a few times to understand where this was coming from, very intricate stuff.

The album choice is excellent as always! Van Der Graaf Generator are one of the best bands ever and this is maybe their best record, although their other records too deserve a special attention.

This 3rd track is very familiar to Gentle Giant and another very tasty track, and I am pretty sure I have heard this one before. Well that was superb Dave mate, and I think Rui made an excellent choice with this weeks album. I have a choice of my own you might want to do in a future review, and if you do not have the album, I can always send it you. Will send a message to you on it sometime soon. But yeah this is one album I shall be purchasing for real, it's my favorite genre of music, and always will be, and it goes down very nicely with the other artists who you just mentioned, to which I do have. Super review as always David mate, and very nicely presented mate.

@Lee >>> Lucas: Hi Lee, Fripp is there, does this responds to what you're sensing?

@Lee >>> Lucas: Wonderful piano and vocals on the opening. Tasty sax's and guitars and drums this is pure class........................Great change 3 mins in, this is off on a magical journey and once again I love the diversity. Well have to say this is right up my street, and so far 2 out of 3 definitely ain't bad I see the bowie reference in the vocals, and the crimson flow to it. It's a cracker.............

Right another pause after your tasty description for a listen.....

@Lee >>> Lucas: It flows very much like Gong and Steve Hillage's first solo album Fish Rising. I must admit I have heard of this band, but never brought anything by them. But have to say I am very much liking this track, and it's speaking in leaps and bounds to me, and will deffo get this, if the rest of the album is like this little baby..........

@♬Barclaybunch♩♪: essential VdG requires the harsh sound of the saxs played by David Jackson (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/David_Jackson_(rock_musician)).

@♬Barclaybunch♩♪: I've seen that a few times! I remember going to a Greenday concert at Milton Keynes bowl several years ago and they brought on some 'extras'. Always seems a shame, what they do is a large part of what makes the song good, but they get little recognition =)

@Matthew Farrington: I can't ask any more than that, if it's a cooked dinner, you may make it to 23 minutes, including the drying up :) Thanks for listening.

@Matthew Farrington: I know, later on the sax guy is doing a fog horn too, from what I've read, he was an integral part of the bands success, unlike many other bands who just wheel them in for a solo and them wheel them out again.

I can't promise to listen to it in detail, but I'll listen to it while I do the washing up ;)
