Ben Eshmade interviews them a few days before their London gig.

Their songs range from bewitching ballads to freeform rituals and they come with a reputation for scene-stealing live shows. Last year they assembled an impromptu drum circle to perform from The Coronet floor. This time they come to London with a 12-strong Scandinavian choir to perform this special programme of brand new tracks. With the assistance of arranger Hildur Gudnadottir and musicians from the Bedroom Community label, Wildbirds' sound has now morphed into something altogether more ethereal, with Mariam's gorgeous vocals backed by spectral choral harmonies, steel pan drums and deft, articulate percussion.
