Bandura (Jakub Samochowiec – formerly together with Stefan Herzog until Stefan moved to Berlin) is a musician, producer
and DJ from Basel, Switzerland.
With Gigs in Basel, Berne, Lucerne, Zurich, Freiburg, Düsseldorf, Ljubliana, etc., and with residencies in Basel (Hinterhof, Sud) and Berne (ISC), Bandura has become firmly established in the Swiss party landscape.
The DJ Sets are best described by their eclectic diversity. From vintage funk to modern electronica, from 60 to 220 bpm, from bossa nova to electro swing, everything can be found, as long as it is grooving and doesn't take itself too serious.
Bandura shared the decks or supported Mo'Horizons, Quantic, The Correspondents, Parov Stelar, N.O.H.A., Simon Goss (Wahwah 45), Henry Storch, Renegades of Jazz, Frohlocker, DJ Deli-Kutt, Shantisan, DJ Farrapo and many more.
Besides of DJing, Bandura also produce their own tracks. Inspired by funk, breakbeats, trip hop, electro swing, bossa nova and indietronica sounds, they combine elements of live played instruments with groovy samples, fat beats and crispy analogue goodness to produce a seducing mélange.
Tracks by Bandura have been released on the Unique label from Düsseldorf. Further releases are planned on Resense and other labels. Preparations for a live-band are also well underway.
It will not be silent around Bandura anytime soon.
