About
Hello. I'm Bri. I grew up on the road with my mom, dad, and brother. They're all pretty bitchin'. I started playing music when I was five because my big brother told me it would be cooler to take piano lessons than to get into gymnastics. Some of my influences, whether you can hear them in my music or not, are: Dan Bejar, Patsy Cline, Ben Kweller, Kathleen Wilhoite, Billie Holiday, Elyse Weinberg, and it would take me probably 47 days without sleep to list off the rest of them. While you're visiting my page, please seriously consider visiting the pages of some of my friends. Find them in the list of musicians I currently follow on Soundcloud. Scott Fernandez is rad. He's talented and real and plays a NASTY bass the size of a truck and makes it look easy and also sexy. Redgrave are also pretty sick...I got into them cause one of the band members has been my pen-pal for, like, six years (from across the pond). I've not met them yet, or seen them play, but I need to! They've got great guitar licks, some sweet harmonies, and delicious accents. Bam, done. Mount Peru (they're not really friends of mine, per se, cause I haven't had the pleasure of getting to know them personally) is the name of a band I heard by accident...I popped into a dive bar in Nashville (where I lived until recently but can't wait to move back!!!), totally at random, and caught the last couple songs of their set. They hit me upside the head with so much greatness that I just HAD to buy their album with all $2 bills, and I listen to it constantly, and the hope this band gives me for real Rock 'N' Roll ceaselessly grows. Critical Consciousness is an old friend of mine, representing the Twin Cities. Some of my best nights to date were spent in his living room watching him produce and then test-drive quality Drum & Bass and other such fine electronic music. Bobby Exodus is a good friend of mine from Nashville and he's the best pocket-sized Tru Skool hip-hop cat & has the biggest heart which practically pops out of his chest every time he hammers a syllable into the mic. I could go on, but you ought to just take a listen to all these folks for yourself. Thanks for stopping by!
