Baker Street Recordings spread their international wings with New Zealander James Barrett returning to the Leeds based label hot on the heels of his remix on Joe Morris'
Al Bradley/Chemical Warfare: A solid four-tracker here, each track is excellent & it's tough to pick a favourite here, but I think the low bass groove of 'Just Looking' edges it for me, with it's techy edge. Wicked!
Jesus Pablo: Loving Vanu... deepness at its best... chugs along nicely... will be supporting this in shows... nice overall EP... Baker Street are on fire lately... :)
Rob Pearson: Fourth & Just Looking both sound right up my street, cool release indeed!
Darran Nugent/Aruba: Fourth is excellent. Vanu comes off like early Jori Hulkkonen - epic feeling.
Rob Clarke: Like the dark & moody textures created by james on this ep. all tracks are decent, vanu is great but afters is my pick!
DJ Nova: More old school Warehouse adventures in this EP. ''Afters'' the track that is closing the EP is outstanding. A deeper shade of the past with beautiful keys strong and tight lazy tech house beat that blow up my mind.
CheckPoint: Naughty, tweaky and super atmospheric… just in time for Halloween! Going to play the hell out of this one! Deep, deep and more deep with seriously sinister undertones. Love it!
Sean Thomas: Wow, mooooooody business! so very sold on this EP. well done James Barrett and Baker St. massive! can't wait to bugg out to this.
'Wired For Sound' earlier this year. The four track EP entitled 'Options' serves up a edgey blend of hypnotic tech house, old school warehouse vibes and a nod to progressive house roots. There's a real sense of James' love of early house on show here and plenty of deep grooves to keep you hooked.
James Barrett hails from Auckland, New Zealand where his burning passion for deep Chicago house and the odd slice of Detroit techno as seen him release on labels such as Manuscript Records, Soul Shift, Splendid Lo-Fi and CS Gas.
