Bad Gramma are a production duo based in Hounslow, West London, consisting of multi-instrumentalist Jeremiah McKnight and bass player/lyricist Ryan Byrne.
Friends since secondary school, Jeremiah and Ryan, along with Jeremiah's twin brother James on drums, formed a band which would undergo many different guises and name changes before finally settling on Burning Knights. At first the sound was fairly standard, loud aggressive guitar rock, but slowly developed into a more mature sound with intricate instrumental passages.
Having always been fans of modern electronic music as well as classic rock, Jeremiah and Ryan decided to introduce these elements into their music and go in a different direction, which signalled the birth of Bad Gramma.
With influences ranging from Dr Dre to Pink Floyd, Big L to Captain Beefheart, B.B. King to LCD Soundsystem all the while coupled with thought provoking, acutely observational lyrics, Bad Gramma provide a truly original, fresh sound that sets itself apart from the standard mediocrity of a stale music industry. This also goes further than just music, with self-produced videos the pair hope to bring back the days when music videos were about artistic expression rather than an advertising vehicle for the latest mobile phone or an exercise in ego-stroking.
More than anything though, Jeremiah and Ryan just enjoy making music, and hope that you enjoy listening
