Tiana-Rochelle Oldroyd-Ellis (Aka Baddaboom Tee) is musician/fashion intern from South-West London. She beatboxes, produces/composes music, sings, song-writes & performs. She has had the ambition to be a musician/performer or work within the creative arts industry since the age of 6.
In the past couple years, she has really progressed in making her dream a reality. After leaving state school education in February 2011, she has achieved so much and received a lot of recognition in the poetry/underground music scene. In 2010, she became a national winner in a poetry competition called SLAMbassadors which is run by The Poetry Society and is frequently asked to perform/judge at various poetry slams around the UK. Baddaboom Tee has performed with big poetry personalities such as Linton Kwesi Johnson and Joelle Taylor and has performed for Jack Wills Corporates in Dorking as well as help English teachers from Buckinghamshire improve on their poetry/beatboxing skills!
Music was a big part of Tiana's life - she grew up listening to multiple genres of music. Her dad used to be a B-Boy, so the Hip-Hop, Breakbeat & Funk tracks/beats influenced her quite a lot. Mum also loved Hip-Hop but also loved Rare Grooves, 80's Funk, 90's R&B, Drum & Bass/Jungle, Dub/Reggae & Garage. Her brother was in the era when Garage evolved into Grime & UK Underground Rap/Hip-Hop. She loved that Grime music was real, raw & straight to the point and that you could find a Grime artist on your doorstep.
Tee started writing to Grime & Rap instrumentals & even started making her own! In year 6, she received her first producing software; FL Studio! She had no idea how to use it & she had no idea how to produce, but after the first few weeks she was really comfortable with the software & started creating her own sound.
She performed regularly at school shows in her secondary school years & attended music technology classes in the music department every wednesday after school had ended but it didn't benefit her as she didn't get to explore the ins & outs of particular music production programmes. She watched youtube tutorials on different producers creating instrumentals with music production software, recording instruments & vocals and how you could manipulate the audio.
Aged 15, she was given Propellerhead's music production software, Reason 2.0 - which had come out in 2003 & was the third oldest version! Using a Dell laptop, an M-Audio Midi Keyboard & Reason Refills (Samples) she found on the internet, she created instrumentals & uploaded them to soundcloud.
After leaving secondary school in year 10 & going on multiple music production and media courses, Baddaboom Tee has gained an understanding & knowledge of music production and she has found her production/performance style. She makes beats regularly, her fan base is grown & she is collaborating with a lot of artists.
This is only the beginning of her journey! Like this page to be a part of it, to help her grow & to be recognised!
