Ben Wright grew up with music all around. His dad, Ed Wright is a
professional guitarist and young Ben picked up a lot from him. Ben
began playing cello at age 9 and guitar at age 12. He's been an active
musician ever since. Ben has open ears and has been influenced by many
styles of music including: appalachian folk, psychedelic rock,
balinese gamelan, and experimental jazz and classical. Around the turn
of the millenium, Ben discovered electronic music. It began with IDM
and post-rock and blossomed into a full blown techno romance with all
sorts of forward thinking dance music styles. Ben currently resides in
Santa Fe, NM where he plays actively with electronic/rock sensation D
Numbers. He also DJs regularly at various local and
national/international functions and plays lead guitar with various
Santa Fe-based bands including Joe West. Mi is Ben's solo production
and is a culmination of his diverse musical history and influences.
The music is groovy, spacious and psychedelic. Mi's debut record is
Tributary (Archipel 085).
