Born in Brazil, Back to Mars has been living in Europe for a long time. Psytrance got into her life right after she arrived in Amsterdam in the late 90's and went to live in the ELF, a big community that housed many artists, musicians, DJs, producers, painters and shamans.

It was in 2001 that DJ'ing became a part of her, when she started helping with the decoration, building up and playing at the parties from 9 Lives of Hofmann - an underground Psytrance crew from Amsterdam. Since then, she has grown into a versatile DJ.

Besides Psytrance, she also plays Deep House, Lounge, Tech House and Techno at lounge bars and parties in Amsterdam, under the name Marciana. Her performances in this style are growing and beyond her residencies, she has performed live on Radio XT3, playing a Tech House & Techno set and will also play at the Liberation Festival in Waginingen this coming spring.

In Psychedelic Trance, her style can go from Minimal Progressive Psytrance (Zenonesque) to Dark Psytrance. Often she likes to create a journey, so she enjoys the freedom of doing that which fits the time and suits the place.

Back to Mars has played at large festivals and parties of all sizes, sometimes playing for crowds of thousands of people, like the Boom Festival 2008 which had 30,000 visitors! Here is a highlight of the parties and festivals where she performed:
