Stats for this track
Dance music should have one rule only: make people dance. Baby Diego pushes this idea to the limit in his productions. The current scene's sensationalised, united, 'hands up' euphoria is used against itself with a more inward (and upward) ideal. Less Patron under LA strobe-lights, more yin-yangs under the moonlight of 90's Goa.
The tracks feel busy but are catapulted by a super-shined minimalist palette of familiar textures of the past. House, early IDM, trance and booty bass are boiled down to their essential oils. Gone are the notions of simple beats, melody or structure; in their place comes a cacophony of mallets and found sound chugging away to the background drones of a solitary drone. A clinical cityscape of motion with underlying emotion. "Namaste" and the titular "Back II Love" compliment each other in this idiom, glazed composition backed with an aggressive underbelly.
