Born in Humboldt Park, in Chicago and cradled in the infancy of the Hip Hop culture I was able to fore-go the negativity of certain parts of life on the streets. While most of my peers were embracing the life styles they saw on our streets everyday which lead to many deaths and incarcerations I chose to embrace the "BOOM BAP" pounding out my 12 (D) battery powered radio. Although life was hard, music and graffiti sustained my soul and nourished my mind. In these times I was memorizing whole albums by artist we now look at as the legends of the
"GOLDEN ERA" of Hip Hop and with my imaginary mic, (hair brush) I would spit word for word classic verses that changed my life forever and had me knowing with all certainty that one day I had to find a way to leave my own mark on the Hip Hop culture that proved to be my saving grace. I started writing and producing Hip Hop music in 1992. After many years and projects that were never complete due to the lack of cooperation from the people I was surrounded by at the time I decided to invest in my own studio and formed my own company ("A WALK IN DA PARK PRODUCTIONS") in 2002 with the focus being more on the beats and production side of the music. The goal was to seek and attract artist such as myself that have, LOVE, RESPECT and LOYALTY for real Hip Hop. In 2008-09 that's what finally happened when I met the likes of "PozLyrix" and "Scenic Roots" aka "THE BOTTOM DOLLAR SCHOLARS" and "Arken9". After working with them the first time I realized that our collaborations were going to be dope and they were the type of artist I always wanted to surround myself with. In 2011 I was introduced by "Pozlyrix" to "DreamTek" CEO of "Seven Oddities Records" and the rest of the 7Oddz family. In early 2012 I was made a proud member of the Seven Oddities squad and the rest will be Hip Hop history.......A-LEX
