About

A true passion for music has been the driver behind Ahmad Hijjawi's search for his place in the glorious world of sound and melody.
Born in October of 1985 in Dubai where he and his family lived for 19 years, Ahmad (a.k.a AVIDBOLD) felt a pull towards music from an early age, and has been following that "calling" ever since.

It started with a serious interest in Break Dancing, at which he excelled. Dancing to him was about feeling the rythm, not only in his ears, but in his whole body. His love for dance led him to an even deeper adoration for music. His inspiration was, and still remains, his older brother, the famous DJ Bee Bee. At the time, the music Bee Bee played was yet to spread in the Middle East.
AVIDBOLD absorbed the music naturally and he found himself in Progressive, House, Techno and Tech-Trance.

AVIDBOLD spent years hovering over his brother, trying to learn all he could from his role model who was the first to introduce this genre of music into the Jordanian culture. AVIDBOLD also contributed in organizing music events and observing some of the world's most famous DJs in action: (Above & Beyond, Armin Van Buuren, John Digweed, Dave Seaman, Aly & Fila, Ferry Corsten, Satoshi Tomiie, Josh Gabrie,l Nick Warren, Andy Moor, Sharam from Deep Dish, Marco V, Markus Schulz…etc).

It is because AVIDBOLD loved the music that he felt the need to make it heard and appreciated, and to help improve its scene in the country. Upon the opening of the SAE institute in Amman, a practical creative media education center, AVIDBOLD took a more involved step into the world of music production; he studied EMP (Electronic Music Production).

After studying and practicing, AVIDBOLD made his first public appearance at a local bar called the Irish Pub in 2008. That night was the first of many to follow, after which he became one of the fastest rising DJs in Jordan. In the summer of 2009, AVIDBOLD was asked to play at one of the region's biggest music festivals, Distant Heat, alongside famous DJs on the lineup (Armin Van Buuren, Glenn Morison and Bee Bee). AVIDBOLD's first gig out of Jordan was in 2009 at New Year's Eve playing in Beirut – Lebanon. And in the following year, he was hired to take a main act in one of the first E.D.M nights that, Ramallah (Palestine) witnesses to be the main DJ.
AVIDBOLD's great performances in 2009-2010 gave him the privilege to open up for Danny Howells early this year of 2010 and warming up a summer night for one of the best electronic dance festival as rated on RTL TV, Distant Heat 2010, headed by Top Djs Ferry Corsten, Gareth Emery and Alex Morph.
This success kept going forward after Distant Heat; he was asked to play again in Beirut, at an after party for Sasha and James Zabiela, along with Ricky Syfer and Ronin&Nesta. Including another night in Ramallah where he was also the main DJ of the event.

AVIDBOLD believes all people can be united in love and peace through the world of music. His passion to spread the good vibes across the world has now become part of him and his reason for being.
