Rich Avery (AKA =AVE=, FreeRange DJs) has created waves in the South-West of England with his music by taking every moment to supply hungry crowds with dirty and exciting beats.

Starting on an Amiga 500+ at the age of 9 with a demo copy of Octa-med 3, to then become a drummer/percussionist for various bands from Orchestra to Rock, Jazz to Indie, Rich then found a new love in electronic dance music, at that time playing all sub-genres from Trance to Schranz, later to find a home with Electro/Breakbeat styles.

Rich is currently studying a 3 year degree in Sound & Music Technology at Deep Blue Sound, Plymouth where he is deeper involved with sound design, production, mastering, live events, management, sound to film/animation, and listening aesthetics.

Runner up in the Feb 2004 Tranzaction DJ Competition and high end finish in the Corona World DJ Competition, =AVE= developed his own sound of electronic fidget break-beat with recognition from A-list DJs with a recent remix of his track “Back To The Old Jack” by long term breakbeat favorite DOM ALMOND. In the southwest scene Rich has been involved with most of the club nights and brands, these include Streetwise Music, CGI International Events, Audio:Pressure, Bar 200, Simian Sounds, LUSH, Ghetto Blaster, Sandsifter, Tranzaction, Tall Trees and Surgical Beats/Badmouth to name a few.

=AVE= was selected by FreeRange Party Society founder and headman OLLY G in early 2007, alongside with long term member of the scene and Tech-funk specialist DJ HI-FLY (AKA Seb, Vinyl Richie), dubstep terrorist DJ SIQ:NOTE (AKA Nath), 2007 Best DnB SW DJ -Klimax-, Liquid Dnb DJ and Producer DJ DISTANCE (AKA Reuben), Hip-Hop and Scratch artist DJ HANZO and finally fellow Deep Blue Sound student and runner up in the 2007 SW DnB awards dynamite MC BENNY C.

FreeRange were voted 1st to win the Waveform Festival's 2008 competition NEXT WAVE, with return bookings from Surfstock and Beachbreak Festivals including this years 2009 NASS Extreme Sports Festival and Ripcurl BOARDMASTERS. They have also penciled in recent bookings for AEON Festival and AFTERNOON TEE (afternoon-tee.co.uk) - The Independent Music, Street Art & Fashion Festival and also SHY FX and CYANTIFIC at Audio:Pressure's new venue and home THE OFFICE in Truro.

In 2007 FreeRange secured a bi-monthly slot on the the world's biggest on-line breaks radio station NSB Radio (AKA nuskoolbreaks.co.uk) who were voted winners at the Breakspoll 2008 and 2009 Competition held at Fabric, where they hold a bi-monthly Saturday slot.
FreeRange are also featured on local on-line station SWU Radio (www.southwestunderground.net) where they hold a weekly thusday slot, which has gained much popularity nationally.

=AVE='s first ever released remix of Brazilian tech-trance star FOXXY's track “Arcadia” had massive plays internationally, which was signed to SA:UK label 'Freaky Deaky' Records.

The track was exclusively featured on the HarderFaster website, achieving NO.1 in the DJ chart receiving a massive 10/10 rating score by a veteran reviewer for the site.

With the 2009 summer fast approaching and bookings fast filling up, =AVE= is busy in the studio with the fellow FreeRange Djs working on the “FreeRange Inc.” album, genre bending between the sounds of dubstep to more tech edge breakbeat/electro sounds. =AVE='s un-released electro-fidget-breaks track “Your Mind Your Passion” has received interest from the likes of Rektchordz, D-Ranged/Ben Hash Key, Will Streetwise and Shaun H and is currently being loved by the ears it tears on the dancefloor!

This year looks set to be big, keep your eyes and ears peeled for the saw-tooth sleaze!
