About
Shane P. Bennett is an independent musician, music producer and media commentator based in Melbourne, Australia. He specialises in creating, composing and recording.
His first album, 'ALLEYWAYS and FOODCHAINS' under the working name ‘Autonomous Regions’ (www.autonomousregions.bandcamp.com) was released in August 2011, and follows his first album ‘A Rice Paper Odyssey’ by the EAP Collective (http://the-e-a-p-collective.bandcamp.com/) released in 2009.
He has collaborated as a lyricist and poet with his former band the Butsukaris, who were based in Tokyo, Japan. Shane also formerly wrote for Melbourne’s largest street press, ‘BEAT’ with interviews and reviews including the Stray Cats, PNAU, Simian Mobile Disco and Spiritualised. In 2009 Shane was involved in the creation of a music promo clip for La Trobe University International College.
Currently, the next Autonomous Regions album, 'Selected Ambient Pop Art', is scheduled for an early release 2012, whilst new collaborative material is being worked on for his side project.
