Another addition to Auralism’s extensive roster, The Tourist is a San Francisco artist whose music truly strays from all convention. The “Lack Out” EP is a trip into dusty record bins and rusty decks. “Right Post” kicks of the EP with a confidence that grabs you by the hips and doesn’t let go. Saturated funk grooves and scratchy key stabs ride on a loose and insatiable gallop. “Lack Out” is a shuffling house groove for those late-night listening sessions. “Hold it Now” provides some experimental beats for those crate-digging multi-turntable deck hogs.
