Since kid, Lalo Portilla "Audioholic" is influenced by his father, wich was a DJ of the 80's decade and later by his cousin Gerardo Portilla, who played minimal when he began. The curiosity of get into the DJ's scene came at his 17 years, when he goes to Mexico City to study a Master in Music Production at G.Martell in Fall of 2007, where he spent his free times at the dj booths to understand how his father and cousin used to mix. It was love at first sight. Inmediately, he starts to get some electronic music tracks, just to learn how to mix by himself and he realized that this was the only thing he wanted to do for the rest of his life.
Then, he gets rapidly the Pioneer Pro Dj Mexico certificate at school and since then, he started playing at little partys at Mexico City in Spring of 2008. Since then, his yet short career at his short age has been in constant rise.
Now based at North Mexico, he has a residence at the most important electronic club of the region: "Cafe Iguana" in Monterrey since his 18, and he's the chosen dj to play at the biggest events in Saltillo, Coahuila where he has played many times for up to 4000 people, as well as he had many other important gigs in the rest of the state and the country.
With John DIgweed, Hernán Cattáneo and Sasha as his biggest influences, he focused his sets with melodic and groovy sounds, Progressive House mostly, without leaving behind the Deep House, Techno, Tech House and even Minimal.
Now focused to production too, he achieved to get his first track ever made to be released in a new mexican label with important line up: In4mation Records.
With some other upcoming releases, Audioholic's career is even starting. Definetly a new talent to keep an eye on it!.
