Back in 2005, the Brazilians and best friends Hugo Dias and Thiago Almeida decided to step into the music production. The decision followed a natural course: as avid club-goers, both of them started to listen to a lot of electronic music tracks. Needless to say that it slowly became a passion for these guys. Back then, every DJ used to play techno, but, in a very short period of time, other styles started to see the light: progressive house, electro and minimal invaded the dancefloors in their town.
The passion rapidly became obsession: feeling that they could do the same as their favourite artists, Hugo and Thiago created Major Pax, the first electronic music duo in their city. With the newborn project, they tested their expertise on tracks which style varied from progressive house, breakbeat and downtempo. These tracks reached the world through various labels, such Loopfreaks Black and Pantano Beat. The project also released two digital albuns: "Things To Come" and "Somewhere Out Here", both hitting some of their tracks on the Beatports Top 100.
Attik first rose to prominence following the 2008 launch of the label Bleep Bloop Records (digital music label, owned by Hugo and Thiago, along with LC Junior, Anderson Fellini and Rodrigo Farinha, aka Faraz). Now, with their own outlet, they got more creative freedom and flexibility on their release schedule, wich allowed them to experiment styles such as minimal, tribal house, techno and tech house.
With creative and singular tracks, its no wonder why Hugo and Thiago are getting the proper appreciation not only on their native country, but around the four corners of the world. Their recipe for success resides in a mix of groovy basslines, frenzy percussions, heavy kicks and, sometimes, a little spicy latin flavour. Tracks such "Patrola", "Like This" and "Nooit Stoppen" gives a happy and uplifting energy to many DJ sets.
Their remix for Talal & Zois "African Baby" has been played at D-Edge, the 9th Worlds Best Club - and the first in America - according to DJ Mags April edition. Other tracks such as "Juanita", "Roboto" and "No Room To Swing A Cat" has been played on a routine basis at Garare, one the best clubs in whole Latin America, always delivering high doses of goosebumps and excitation to its club-goers.
