ATRUM is an Icelandic extreme musical entity founded upon an idea; to create a powerful and dynamic atmosphere within complicated and challenging music. Forged in 2005 by Sigurður (vocals, guitar), Úlfar (guitar) and Arnar (drums), the band has overcome line-up changes, musical changes and ideological challenges but always reached a higher level of strength.

Since the beginning ATRUM has made a significant impact on the Icelandic scene with its forceful blend of death and black metal, mixed with discreet classical elements and in 2007 the band was structurally completed by Iceland's' most prominent metal drummer Ragnar. Never giving up on their particular vision of extreme metal, it took more than three years to deliver what they aspire to be one of the most impressive debuts of modern metal which should pave the way towards international activities and recognition.

The debut EP, Opus Victum was recorded and produced by the band and Jóhann Ingi and mixed and mastered by Greek metal veteran George Bokos of Rotting Christ fame. The offering was released digitally in 2011 to impressive reviews and response from the Icelandic scene.

Last year ATRUM won the Icelandic chapter of Wacken Metal Battle and stormed the WET stage at the worlds‘ biggest metal festival, Wacken Open Air, the following August in front of hundreds of eager metalfans. ATRUM are known in Iceland for intense and accurate live performances, incorporating strong visual and aesthetic aspects, making the show a powerful experience in which all music enthusiasts can find something to their liking.
