Icelandic pop artist Alda is releasing her come-back single. ‘You’re Coming Out’ will be released on 2nd October 2011 and is produced by Andy Wylie at Atomic Recordings. The track, Alda’s first release after a 10 Year hiatus, has already been re-mixed by none other than the Thin Red Men who are the masters behind artists such as Adele, Cheryl Cole, Nicole Sherzinger, Britney Spears, Flo Rida, Enrique Iglesias and Beyonce. Alda first hit the UK singles chart in 1997 with her debut hit ‘Real Good Time’ which reached number 7, selling over 200,000 units. Her second single ‘Girls Night Out’ entered the UK singles chart at number 20 during Christmas week. In total, Alda sold around five million records worldwide and was awarded a double platinum disc in North America, and Gold discs in the UK, Canada and Japan. Alda’s chart friendly sound and singalong tunes became an instant success and even resulted in ‘Real Good Time’ being used for promoting the world cup on TV and radio. After leaving her record label, Alda decided to focus on various other interests such as studying an MA in Psychology, writing a novel, and a rock opera based on the Nordic Gods Thor and Odin. Having never stopped writing pop songs Alda has been thinking about a comeback for some time and now she feels the time is right. ‘This time around will be so much more fun, but a real challenge as I am in control of everything myself. It’s quite funny running around from room to room being both the sound engineer and the recording artist, but I love it’. Alda is currently working with various producers based in Portugal, Scotland and London with a new album to be released early 2012.
