DJ Atma, or Atma the Weapon, co-founder of Vancouver Island's Chainsaw Sound, has been pushing the Drum and Bass Sound for over 5 years. First in Victoria, and now in Vancouver where he has held residencies for over 2 years, he's currently promoting alongside the Suave Assassins crew, Bullet Bill, Clix, and Sinesthetix.

Mostly focusing on positive vibes, Musically, Atma maintains the positive vibes. Known for combining tearin’ basslines with jazzy undertones, his mixes are frequently heavy soulful party smashers. He Frequently Draws influences from heavy hitters such as Dillinja, Sub Focus, TC, and Tech Itch, and the beautiful melodies from Marky and XRS, Mutt, Alix Perez, and Brookes Brothers.

Atma now comes in Dubstep Flavor too! With a debut collaboration with KZSS, the critically acclaimed and Shah Djs Production Contest 2nd place winner "Illegal in 9 Countries", Atma has started things off with style, and he's been working consistently in the studio, coming up with new ways to test sound systems and push bass cones to their limits.

    CHAINSAW SOUND:

The term “Chainsaw” was originally used in reference to the big snarly basslines in drum and bass music. With an unparalleled enthusiasm for their craft, Atma & Rhythmicon formed the original collab “Chainsaw Distribution” as an outlet for supplying the scene with high quality artists, events and mixes. Years later, both have built studios and held down residencies and the duo have become known as Chainsaw Sound. Working to further his music career, Atma moved to Vancouver and began promoting and playing with the Suave Assassins group, while Rhythmicon ran the VIBE night at Hush, and became one of the driving forces behind the Pacific Dubstep camp.
