For my May installation, I start off feminine and sultry. About half-way into it, I get a little more challenging and spacey with some k-style tracks that I appreciate but rarely play (29:00+)...Then I depart from the heady stuff and heavily contrast it with a driving Romboy track (43:00+) before a melodic/sultry cooldown with a Guillame track followed by Marco Resmann.
I'm pretty happy with this one as I can feel my sound maturing, although perhaps at risk of alienating some listeners, but that's life...I also explored more varied and technical transitions. During the middle portion where I have a couple mixes that are each over 3 minutes: one starting at 31:30 and the other at 36:20.
I'm trying something different this month - if you want to geek out and analyze (ridicule) my technique, have a look here: http://atish.net/pics/atish%20%5b014%5d%20-%20may%202011%20-%20horsey%20off%20the%20bits%20picture.png
Blue = Volume
Yellow = EQ Treble
Purple = EQ Mids
Orange = EQ Bass
If you're a DJ and you use software to lay out your mixes, I encourage you to do the same...

@Dr. Rek: and mixmeister is the shiznet for making a mix cd, I made my spring trip mix with it, but it felt kinda awkward using it live, like the terminator was here from the future here to save me and i knew too much

@Dr. Rek: I haven't found any other mixers (digital or analog) that have a filter as good as an allen+heath. Also tagging with another DJ who doesn't have a USB stick or playing at burning man still require the age-old art of beat-matching on CD-Js or turntables.

you could analyze them all if you switched software / to an all controller setup (i.e. mixmeister fusion) , but do you really need to go that far?
I myself am a big fan of having a controller and removing the hassles of digital vinyl / cds / unknown mixer troubles, for they are frequently observed in those who remain stuck to the old ways
but its totally all about finding the tools that get you what you need for your own set - ammora_is_listed
