We're just a couple of friends nearing 50 that are just jamming on the weekend. I am an Air Traffic Controller by trade. I have been at it 31 years. I will be 50 in July. I started playing guitar about four and a half years ago and started righting songs about 3 years ago. It is just a great passion of mine, I am not a professionally trained musician. I just took a few lessons and an learned a bunch of chords and some scales. Then I started putting stuff together. "Radar Contact" came together based on a session Nick and I were doing while warming up. I had the riff, then Nick came in with the drums and we worked it out. This is all coming from inside me. I do not have music scored or anything like that. I just play and record what I feel like is cool. . Nick Acciardo, my drummer, is a co-worker on the technical operations side of the Air Traffic control business. He maintains the Radar systems for us. He was a former DJ in New Jersey back in the 80's. He also played drums in a band back then too. He is just getting back into playing after being off the kit for 20 years. Nick is a great drummer and a great guy.
I have another complete song as well others that are in various stages of development. It is a slow process for us, as getting practice time around busy schedules can be tough. I play all the guitars. Nick does the drums. I write lyrics as well. So in the end, I am trying to share my passion. Creating music frees me.
We are working on original songs written by Joe Roe with Nick Acciardo. This song is an original that I had been working on before I met Nick, my drummer.
I know we have a couple of great songs in the works. Its just for fun. We have a very strong desire to make quality music that appeals to a wide audience. We are just getting started, but early reviews are favorable.
Collaboration is welcome and wanted. We want to share, learn and become better. We need your help. And we want others to help us. We are hoping for a positive experience. I believe music is the elixir for the human soul. It re-charges us, it motivates us, and most of all it brings us great happinesss. So stick around. We promise to have great things in store for you! Yet, I have a lot of work to do. I am grateful for Nick who has come into my life as a friend and a great drummer. We are looking forward to making much more music together. So for now, we are getting my(our) original stuff sorted out as it is the most important thing. I think I have some good things going on. I am very appreciative of all the positive feedback I have gotten from friends and family. The support is welcome and needed. Along with my own passion it helps motivate me to get better and be a better guitar player and musician.
"Radar Contact: The Master Cut" was mixed, mastered and produced by Stacks of Wax Production, Evan Feist, Owner/ Producer. We do not have a bass player. So I hired a session bassist to do the bass line for us. Also the drums were originally recorded on Yamaha E-Drums. Mr. Feist recommended that the drum's be re-recorded on a mic-ed kit in the studio, so we agreed to have the drummer replicate Nicks original work. The end result was excellent.. Nick was happy and the track maintained its original integrity, We live in Arizona, and the studio is in New York. So it was cyber-collaboration with these guys and it was my first experience ever doing this. It was a pleasant experience. I really respect their work..
Thank you all very much.
